CYNTHIA K. SMITH
Cindy has been a trial lawyer for more than 22 years. She has a wide range of experience in cases ranging from wrongful death, civil rights, and other injury cases, to employment, criminal defense and elder law cases. Cindy has helped clients receive large verdicts and settlements against multimillion dollar corporations and insurance companies, as well as cities and municipalities.
Cindy is rated by her peers as A-V, the highest rating given by Martindale Hubbell. She has also been designated as a Mountain States Super Lawyer for the past several years, and has received the highest rating given by AVVO.
Cindy is a past president of the State Bar of Montana, and a past president of the Western Montana Bar Association. Cindy currently serves on the State Bar of Montana Ethics and Professionalism Committees.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Montana School of Law, Cindy participated in the ABA Moot Court Competition, where she and her teammates made it to the national semi-finals. Cindy was also an Editor of the Montana Law Review. Following law school, Cindy clerked for United States District Judge Charles C. Lovell. Cindy is also a 2004 graduate of Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming.
Cindy is a member of the American Bar Association, and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Montana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
